Happy 2nd Birthday, Ava!

This weekend was packed full of celebration of Ava's second birthday. Children's birthday celebrations are always fun but when it's your own child it's a totally different story. For Mike and me it's not only a time for Ava to see all of her favorite people and have lots of fun, but also for us to look back on the years since she was born. We still cannot believe it's been two years and what a neat little person she's developed into. Just amazing!

Part 1: the party!
We had our families over on Saturday for a little party. After Ava's standard 20-30 minute 'warm up' to everyone, she had fun running around with Cousin Jake, playing with all her new gifts and eating cake and ice cream! We are so grateful that our families were able to come and celebrate with us and for all the gifts they showered Ava with!

Part 2: fun family time!
On Sunday, Ava's actual birthday, she, Mike and I went to the Como Zoo and Conservatory. We did this last year for her first birthday too and plan to make it an annual tradition! We later had lunch at Punch Pizza and went and played at Lake Marion Park near our house. Ava ended the day by playing with all her new, fun toys!

(Yes, Ava is wearing the same coat this year as she was last year on her birthday. Although I am a bit embarrassed, I promise all the other clothes are different and she did have a cute 'Birthday Girl' shirt on; it was just too chilly out! :)

Love the cake! Did you make it yourself?
