10 months!

This morning Ava greeted me standing up in her crib, and tonight she stood up in the tub! These were both firsts today, the day she turned 10 months!

I was telling Mike last night that she all of a sudden seems really “old” to me –- old as in toddler-like. She is pulling herself up onto everything and starting to scale the furniture. I’ve noticed in the past couple days she’s gotten more brave about climbing over things and not getting so upset when she falls down. She has distinct preferences in the food she eats and is vocal about letting you know she’s hungry –- and she is eating pretty much anything we do. She’s starting to get frustrated occasionally when playing, such as when she cannot get a block in or out of something. She blabs constantly and is starting to clearly associate things with words (such as, when you say “where’s the lion,” she points to the lion picture). She is becoming really good at independent play and she LOVES the dogs (an affection they’re working on returning!).

It’s sad to think that she’s really venturing away from being a baby, but exciting at the same time!

Some other stats:

Current favorite food: cheese of any kind
Foods I like that my parents don’t: black olives, mushrooms
Favorite activity: looking at/paging through my picture books
Least favorite activity: getting dressed
Favorite toy: balls
