Liam's big owie

Last Friday Liam was trying to come down the stairs with his arms full of blankets and books, lost his footing, and tumbled down the entire flight. He got upset but seemed more scared than hurt. He did complain of his neck hurting but really just went about things as normal.

But after about 24 hours, it wasn't getting better and there was swelling and bruising near his neck. We brought him in and x-rays showed his right collar bone is completely broken. I am still in shock that it happened and have that combination of guilt, empathy and sympathy. But I am more shocked at how well Liam has handled this. He's been so tough and resilient, really only complaining when we try to pick him and up when he's trying to get comfortable in bed.

On Monday we had fun building with blocks while Ava was at preschool and, as you can see below, he was already lifting his arm up pretty high!

And tonight his bruise is turning green ... starting to go away! And he's complaining a lot less, sleeping better at night, and using his arm a lot more. We're lucky he's a fast healer and TOUGH little guy!
