Snack time on the plane!
We spent a little time at the pool, walked the KATY Trail and visited the site of JFK’s assassination.
And the festivities for Mike’s cousin’s wedding, the whole reason we were there, were so much fun! They had their rehearsal dinner at a “ranch.” Silly me, showing my Midwestern naivety, thought it was really going to be at a ranch, but it was really in a ballroom in downtown Dallas! But nonetheless, we ate some good southern food and Ava ran all over the place. She really liked the stuffed bear and coyote, although she was a little leery about touching them at first. At the wedding, Ava kicked off her shoes and did some dancing! Kristin was a beautiful bride and her and Grant’s wedding was amazing.
We’re still getting settled into the new house. While we were in Dallas, my dad and brother painted almost the entire interior! It was fabulous to come home and it all be done. A huge thanks to them! This week we’re getting new carpet, and then we will be able to finish unpacking and setting up all the rooms. Photos to come :)
Ava has been scheduled to have ear tube surgery on June 29. We’ve talked at length about the procedure and it’s really our only option at this point. She has basically had an ear infection and been on antibiotics for the last 9 months! We’re hopeful this will give her some much needed relief. The procedure itself is very noninvasive, it’s just the anesthesia I worry about. She will only be “under” for about 5 minutes and, in the end, the process will be well worth it.
