Cabin trip #3!

Our third and final family cabin trip for the summer was our annual week at the lake with Mike's family near Brainerd. We always look forward to this relaxing and fun week together.

This year Ava and cousin Jake had a lot of fun running around together. They were good about including Liam too! Ava said her favorite part of the week was swimming in the lake. And Liam said his was going for rides (on the golf cart)! Mike enjoyed playing a couple rounds of golf and I was just happy to disconnect and relax for the week.

Ava was also a little shadow of Brittney, Mike's step-brother's wife. Brittney is so good to her! They played games, did each other's hair and cuddled!

We also did something different this year too and went out for dinner at Zorba's and went go-carting. The kids (big and little!) had a blast. Liam was too little to ride and really wanted to. Hopefully next year!

One funny memory of the week happened one night when Ava and Liam were supposed to be going to sleep. They had already been up late and were a bit slap happy. Plus, they were sleeping the same room, which they aren't used to. And it went a little something like this:

L: AVA! (giggle, giggle)
A: Liam. Mommy is going to yell at you when she comes in here. But not at me because I'm going to sleep.
L: AVA! STAND UP!

A: Go to sleep!
L: AVA! (giggle, giggle) Look over here!!
A: (finally giving in) ... (giggle, giggle)

 

And then it escalated into full-on silliness which I amused myself with (hearing it through the monitor) for a good 20 minutes before ruining their fun!

Another fun week with many great memories made!
