Summer fun

We are having so much fun with Ava this summer. She has become so interested in everything and loves being out and about. We brought her to the races at Canterbury Park this weekend and she had a blast! She was infatuated with the horses and danced like crazy to the music. The band even gave her a shout-out!

Ava is also quite the entertainer. She slept over at my parents' this weekend and they took her to Leprechaun Days in Rosemount and a car show in Hastings. They said she danced for the crowd and waved at everyone that walked by!

Naturally, Ava loves the zoo. She loves all animals. We had a fabulous trip to the zoo this weekend. Although we were only there for a couple hours, we went at the perfect time because all the animals were active. We got to see the grizzly bears and leopard up close and Ava got to feed a giraffe! I have wanted to do that with her all summer. I had every intention of feeding it myself thinking she'd be nervous so close to it, but she grabbed the little crackers right out of my hand and fed it each one!



Ava also got to go to her first Twins game of the season on Monday. Mike's company does an annual outing to a game. At the picnic beforehand, she ran around with the other little kids. One little boy wanted to hug her SO bad and she would not let him! She did eventually give him a kiss -- perhaps she was hoping that would get him to leave her alone?! (It didn't work). We only lasted through the second inning, but Ava had a blast and actually sat and watched the game for a few minutes! The rest of the time she was playing peek-a-boo with the people sitting behind her!
