Ritchie cabin weekend

We spent a long weekend with my parents near Webb Lake, WI, last weekend at a cabin on property that my parents' friends Joe and Lesa own. It's on a small, private lake (with great sunny fishing!) and beautiful surroundings. We were able to go swimming and boating at another family friends' lake. Ian, Bre Rose and Nora joined us for a night too. We enjoyed lots of fishing, eating s'mores, swimming, and visiting with and watching Lesa's horses. Liam spent a lot of time digging in the dirt and sand! Ava loved fishing with Grandpa and being in the water whenever she could. I was just thrilled to get to spend so much time together with everyone.

We had one little mishap during the trip. One day we went swimming at a local pool. We were all having SO much fun! Ava was climbing on my dad's back and pushed off backwards. She was too close to the pool edge and hit her hit. Her head ended up splitting open--there was lots of blood and panic and long 22-mile ride to the Spooner ER. And Ava ended up with 4 staples in her head. But, all things considered, she did so well and was so brave. And by that evening, she was no worse for the wear. She snapped right back and it's healing great. Staples come out this week!

When we got home after the cabin I asked the kids what their favorite part of the weekend was. Ava said, "swimming at Mike's." (Our family friend's lake). Earlier in the weekend she had said, "riding in the paddle boat with Uncle Ian." :) Liam said, "feeding the fish bread."

 

 

 

 

What great memories we made! Cannot wait for next year!
