15 seconds of fame

Liam's 15 seconds of fame is happening for him very early in life! And Mike and I have had a few seconds too :) A couple weeks ago, the local cable access channel came and interviewed me about Liam's exciting arrival! And this week we attended a Lakeville City Council meeting to receive honorary stork pins and see the 911 dispatcher, police officers and paramedics who helped with Liam's delivery receive theirs! We were also interviewed by KARE11 news, WCCO news, SunCurrent Newspaper and Thisweek Newspaper. Apparently a home delivery is a rare occurrence and an exciting call for a police officer and paramedic. And the media jumps on these light, happy stories!

Our story actually aired on KARE 11. You can watch it online by clicking here (it starts at the 8:35 point).

I was actually very glad we had the opportunity to see the people who helped us again, not only to thank them for their help that day, but also to get some photos with them! Since we did not get any of the typical birth photos of Liam's delivery, given the circumstances, these can kind of take the place!

Me and Kevin O'Neill, the officer that helped Mike deliver Liam. And who we later learned is our neighbor (and a really, really great guy)!

All the officers who helped us that day.

The family with the paramedics.

All the people who helped us that day ... the 911 dispatcher, the Lakeville police officers and the paramedics.
