The Great Minnesota Get-Together

Today we enjoyed one of my favorite annual events: The Minnesota State Fair. I don't know what it is, but I sure do love it. And Ava seemed to as well. We were there for 7 hours and she was a delight. Grandpa Dave also joined us for the fun (although somehow I did not get him in a single photo, oops - sorry Dad!). Highlights: the butterfly house, footlong hotdogs, horses and malts.

We recently also enjoyed a trip to Underwater Adventures at the Mall of America, with Cassie, Angie and Addie. Ava was absolutely enthralled with the fish swimming by and squealed with excitement!

Ava also attended her first baby shower (well, her first that wasn't for her) this weekend for my great friend Jenni (due November 9th with baby Abby! :).

It has been really fun the past few weeks to see Ava’s personality blossom. She is developing an opinion about things, such as the sun in her face or if she’s ready to be done playing with a certain toy. And she gives out glorious smiles and giggles much more often now. She’s also working on rolling over and has a new favorite pastime: sucking her thumb.

Today Ava also turned 4-months old. Stay tuned for her 4-month stats in a week or so!

Wow, 7 hours at the fair - Ava's a trooper! Must have been those cute Robeez that kept her feet feeling good all the way to Machinery Hill and back!
